New School Cool individuals are generally single, young, socially active and career focused. What distinguishes them is their earning (and spending) capacity and their progressive attitudes, both of which are among the community’s highest. Green leanings and an appreciation of the good things in life aren’t mutually exclusive, after all.
Walk with Me
I worked out this morning so I’m feeling great. Tonight I’m having a drink with some of the guys from work at this bar near the office. Lots of good-looking people there and an excellent range of boutique beers — what else could you ask for? We might grab something to eat too; we’ll see.
I work for a trading firm in the city so I earn pretty good money. It’s an easy tram ride from my apartment — I’ve been renting in St Kilda for a couple of years now and love it. There’s always something happening nearby.
Sometimes on weekends I head to the coast in my Subaru 4WD — it was a demo model so I got a sweet deal; plus it’s got a roof-rack for my surfboard. Last weekend, some mates and I flew up to a golf resort in the Hunter; the same crew I’m going to Vegas with later in the year.
On Friday I’m taking my girlfriend to this little Vietnamese place I’ve heard about in Richmond; it’s got really good reviews. I’ve only been seeing Lauren for a few weeks — we met at a gig; she’s a friend of a friend, and likes seeing live music as much as I do. Could she be the one? Early days yet, but the outlook's positive so far...
